Lotta Wulff continues her career at Midland University
Finland’s first flag football scholarship recipient Lotta Wulff announced on Tuesday that she will continue her career at Midland University in Nebraska. Wulff started her studies last fall at Lindsey Wilson University in Kentucky, but the institution did not meet the athletic expectations of the national team quarterback. The background of her decision is explained in the following statement:
The fall has been very educational for Lotta, in terms of her studies, sports, and living in the United States. After assessing her situation, she decided to leave Lindsey Wilson University and seek new options for the spring and the 2026 season. A discussion with coach Chase Andersen about Midland University quickly made it clear that it was the environment, culture, and coaching philosophy Lotta was looking for.
The coaches’ view on sports, hard work, and the holistic development of players made a strong impression on Lotta. She is considered an important piece for the team’s future, and the coaching staff appreciates her technique, game reading, and attitude. At the same time, the expectations are clear: every player must earn their spot every day. For Lotta, this is a motivating challenge that she embraces with high goals.
“I want to be in an environment where both academics and sports are taken seriously, and where I can develop every day. The conversation with coach Andersen made it clear that Midland is the right place for me,” Lotta Wulff says.
Recently, Midland found itself in a surprising situation when the team’s experienced quarterback did not return for this season. This created a challenging starting point for the team. At the same time, Lotta was searching for a new school, and both her and the team’s interests quickly aligned. It became clear that Lotta’s profile and goals fit perfectly with Midland’s plans for the spring and the coming years.
Midland University competes in the KCAC conference (Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference), which is considered one of the most competitive in the country. Midland is part of the so-called ”The Big Four” group along with Ottawa University, Baker University, and Kansas Wesleyan University. The team has a long and strong tradition in women’s flag football, and Lotta feels pride and joy that such a school showed interest and wanted her to be part of their team.
Midland University has set clear goals for the spring of 2026. The team is physically strong and athletic, and at its best, it can compete for a spot among the top eight teams in the country and thus qualify for the Nationals tournament in May 2026. The fact that Midland plays in the same conference as multiple-time champion Ottawa University provides Lotta with the opportunity to regularly measure her level against the best players in the country. High-quality coaching and an effective offense under coach Chase Andersen, in a competitive environment, create a strong foundation for development.
In addition to sports, Midland University offers Lotta a clear academic path through Sports Management studies. This is a field she has long wanted to invest in. A strong sports culture combined with an educational program that supports her career plans makes Midland an attractive option.

The Midland Warriors will start their season on February 25 with a match against the strong Baker team. In March, the team has six conference games, culminating in an away game on March 28 against multiple-time champion Ottawa University. This offers Lotta the opportunity to test her level against the best players in the country right from the start of the season.
A new chapter opens for Lotta in Nebraska, in an environment where ambition, development, and professionalism go hand in hand. She is taking a step forward in her career both on the field and in the classroom.
