Roope Noronen continues as the chairman of the Finnish American Football Association.

The annual general meeting of the Finnish American Football Association (SAJL) unanimously re-elected Roope Noronen to continue as chairman of SAJL for the next two years. Noronen has served as chairman of the association since 2001.

In addition to his role as SAJL chairman, Noronen has previously held positions such as chairman, vice chairman, tournament director, and board member of the International Federation of American Football (IFAF) and served as a representative on the board of the European Federation of American Football (EFAF).

Noronen stated that the development of the American football and flag football community will remain a central focus during the next two-year term. He specifically highlighted the Olympic project initiated for flag football:

“Advancing the Olympic project is a key element in how the operations of the Finnish American Football Association will be reflected in Finland in the coming years.”

The general meeting also unanimously re-elected Mikko Vento, who has long served as vice chairman, for another term. Additionally, Veikko Lamminsalo, Essi Saastamoinen, Henri Kurki, and Otteliina Rantanen were re-elected to the board following a vote.

SAJL’s annual general meeting was held on November 23–24 aboard Viking Line’s M/S Gabriella.
