Ruutu is the TV home of Finnish American football

Ruutu and the American football Maple League have signed a multi-year extension, ensuring that domestic American football will continue to be widely available on Ruutu.

All men’s and women’s Maple League games, as well as men’s I Division matches, can be watched live with a Ruutu+ Sports subscription. All games will be commented in Finnish, and the commentary team includes the familiar Mika Laurila from Ruutu’s NFL broadcasts.

The Maple League season kicks off on June 4, and the season-concluding final, the Maple Bowl, will be seen on September 12 on Jim as well.

Ruutu strengthens its position as the home of American football in Finland. The service will feature both the domestic top league and NFL games. Additionally, fans of the sport can enjoy the Tailgate podcast, available on Supla.

The multi-year agreement with Ruutu ensures that the Maple League will continue to be widely and qualitatively accessible to the domestic audience. We are very pleased with the collaboration that supports the visibility and interest of the sport, allowing fans to follow the sport in summer and winter from the same place, says the president of the Finnish American Football Association Roope Noronen.

Our collaboration with SAJL and the Maple League has been long-term, and the visibility of the sport has developed positively. We are excited to continue showcasing domestic American football, comments the sports manager of Nelonen Media Tuomas Saarela.

With domestic American football and NFL games, top American football will be available to Finnish audiences for nearly 9 months throughout the year.

The Maple League schedule for the 2026 season will be published in the coming days
