Youth national teams prepare for the season

The Finnish youth American football national teams continue international games at all three age group levels. The U19 team is starting its new two-year European Championship series, the U17 national team is hosting the Nordic Championship tournament in Myyrmäki, Vantaa, and the U15 team continues to acclimatize to international pace now in a home game.
U19 National Team – Invitations to the top prospects
The goal of the U19 national team for the next two years is to secure a bronze medal and continue the development of young players towards the world elite. Players born between 2007 and 2009 will be selected for the team. Coaches will choose the invited players, and selected players will be notified of their selection with an invitation letter during February. Approximately 50–60 players will be invited to the first camp, from which a team of 45 players will be formed.
Spring schedule:
- Camp 1: March 14, Myyrmäki
- Camp 2: March 28, Myyrmäki
- Preparatory training and game (vs. Poland): April 3–4, Myyrmäki
The autumn schedule will be confirmed later. The estimated cost for the entire year is €1280, including camps, matches, accommodations, and the competition trip.

U17 National Team – Aiming for the fifth consecutive Nordic Championship gold
The goal of the U17 national team for 2026 is to once again build a competitive national team for the Nordic Championships in the autumn. The team’s objective is to continue the four-year championship streak at home. This year, players born between 2009 and 2011 will be in the team.
For the first spring camp, we hope for as broad participation as possible so that the new coaching staff for the age group can get a comprehensive picture of the players in the age group.
Year’s schedule:
- Selection camp: April 17–19, Kuortane
- Qualification camp: September 18–20, Kuortane
- Preparatory camp and Nordic Championships: October 11–17, Vantaa
The estimated cost for the entire year is €1120, including all camps and the Nordic Championship tournament. More detailed schedules will be published in conjunction with Suomisport registrations.

U15 National Team – First steps on the national team path
The U15 national team activities will start this season with two camps and a home game event. The first camp will serve as an introductory and trial camp, and we hope for as broad participation as possible so that the coaching staff can get a comprehensive picture of the players’ levels at the beginning of the season. The goal is to provide an inspiring and high-quality environment where players can take their first steps on the national team path.
- Kuortane camp: April 17–19 (two-night camp, participant fee approx. €220)
- Pajulahti camp: September 12–13 (one-night camp, participant fee approx. €180)
- Home game weekend: September 18–20 (participant fee approx. €100)
The estimated cost for the season is €400. The first camp will serve as an introductory and trial camp, and registration will open during the early part of the year.
